We’ve kept loose tally on diagnosis calls across DFW, and skylight leaks split into four buckets almost every time.

1. Curb flashing failure (about 80 percent of calls). The step flashing, saddle, and apron pieces that wrap the curb work loose with thermal cycling. Corners are the first to go. You’ll see water staining on the drywall around the shaft long before you see anything at the glass.
