About Roof Raiders & Co.

A family roofing business, built on a single moment.

Sara was laid off at 40 weeks pregnant. That moment is why this company exists, and it is the reason every project we run carries the standard we wish someone had given us.

Mahmoud Abu Saad and Sara Bannat, co-founders of Roof Raiders & Co.

The founding story

The moment that changed everything.

In the fall of 2021, Sara was nine months pregnant when her employer let her go. The timing was not subtle. She was 40 weeks along. Her doctor had her on weekly checks. Mahmoud was working full time. They had bills to pay and a baby due in days.

They could have done what most people in that situation do, find another corporate job and move on. They decided differently. They started a roofing company instead.

The bet was simple. Mahmoud had spent his entire working life in the roofing industry, in sales and roofing materials. Sara had business development and marketing in her background, along with the operations discipline to run the office. Between them they understood what most homeowners wanted out of a roofing contractor and almost never got: someone who answered the phone, told the truth about what needed fixing, and stood behind the work after the install was done.

Why every project carries the standard it does.

When we say we answer the phone 24/7, we mean Mahmoud, Sara, or one of our on-call team members answers. Not a voicemail. Not a call center. The founding promise of the business was that no homeowner with an active leak at 3 AM ever sits on hold the way Sara sat on hold the morning she was laid off.

When we walk an insurance adjuster across your roof, we walk it the way we would walk our own. When we install CertainTeed materials, we install them to the ShingleMaster certification standard that allows us to register the extended warranties most contractors cannot offer. When we do commercial work for property managers, we deliver the kind of monthly reporting that earned us the Goldman Sachs Preferred Vendor designation through the 10,000 Small Businesses program.

None of that is marketing language. It is the operational standard we built the company around because we know what it feels like when a business does not run that way.

A movement for women in the trades.

Sara is now a 10,000 Small Businesses Alumni Ambassador, an advisory board member of HerTexas, and a recognized voice in a trade where female ownership is still under five percent. The decision to put her name on the company as Co-Founder and COO, not in the back office, was deliberate. The roofing industry has a long way to go on equality in the trades. We are trying to move it forward, one homeowner and one hire at a time.

Credentials

The receipts behind the work.

CertainTeed ShingleMaster Certified

Less than three percent of US roofers qualify for ShingleMaster certification. It requires documented training, ongoing installation quality audits, and the right to install the full CertainTeed product line with extended warranty registration. For homeowners, that means access to warranty options most contractors cannot offer.

Goldman Sachs Preferred Vendor

Sara is an alumna and Ambassador of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. The Preferred Vendor designation reflects operational maturity, financial discipline, and the kind of process standardization property managers and commercial clients look for.

OSHA Compliant Crews

Every crew, every site, every project. We document compliance for insurance carriers and commercial clients. For homeowners it is the difference between a contractor who takes safety seriously and one who hopes nothing goes wrong.

5.0 Stars on Google, 47+ Reviews

Every review is from a real DFW homeowner. We do not ask for reviews until the job is signed off and we know the customer is happy. If we ever lose a star we will tell you why and what we did about it.
